Most problems that occur with a PC these days are nothing to panic about. There used to be a time when desktop computers and laptops were a lot more sensitive and a lot more prone to being broken or damaged beyond repair. These days computers are highly tuned machines and these machines are well versed in the art of keeping information on the computer no matter what happens. So when it comes to trouble shooting a computer problem there doesn’t need to be nearly the panic that there used to be. All it really takes is a few minutes, some patience, and the resolve to know that there is very rarely a problem that can’t be fixed.
For the beginner, most things that happen on a computer can be fixed by simply shutting the computer down and then restarting it again. Even when it comes to things like a computer running slow or a piece of information not being able to be found, sometimes just resetting the computer is enough to get things back on track. Sometimes a computer is slow due to the overload of working applications; therefore, turning off the computer will close a good number of those applications and make it run better.
Of course once a computer is turned back on that doesn’t always fix the problem. For that sometimes defragmenting the hard drive is a helpful way to remove some of the clutter that has built up on your computer from the files deleted and other gaps in the memory. You can defragment by simply going to your computer’s search box and typing “defrag.” The process should take a little while so you might be better off just putting your computer to the side and going about some other tasks while it does this, but by the end of it your computer should be good as new. If this doesn’t seem to help, you may have to take it in to get fixed.
